Drive Change in Your Team

Drive Change in Your Team

It can be pretty tempting to blame software, or other people for the reasons why our we don’t do what we want to do.

Reality is the only way to get better and drive change to increase productivity, performance and profits and reduce risk, stress and frustration is to drive change ourselves.

Many executives think that they key to getting more done is to do more, but where does it stop?

Most executives I coach on productivity with technology don’t need to know a lot. They just need to make a change. It’s generally not a big change, just a few simple tweaks to how they do things that enables them to better leverage their time.

The key however is making that time to drive a change.

Einstein is credited with saying “the definition of insanity is trying to solve a problem with the same mind that created it.”

For an executive, the true cost of the time taken to make the decision to change is under estimated. It’s not just the financial cost of the actual time taken to review, consider or analyse information, it’s the opportunity cost.

What could you be doing if you were able to do this faster and easier?

Would you be able to close another $2M deal? Which adds to organisational profit.

Would you be able to go home at a reasonable hour and spend time with your family? Which reduces stress.

Would you be able to head to the gym or the golf course for some exercise or downtime? Which increases physical fitness.

Management guru Peter Drucker is quoted as saying

“Knowledge has to be improved, challenged, and increased constantly, or it vanishes.”

In 2019 what are you going to do to improve, challenge and increase your knowledge and drive change in your work practices??
